There will be a resident meeting on Thursday, April 27th at 6:00 pm at City Hall to discuss project details and estimated project timeline for the planned 2023 Street Improvement project. The project will entail the installation of new underground utilities and surfacing items such as streets and driveways. Most of this work is planned to be completed in 2023.

The upcoming Street Improvement project will include the complete reconstruction of the following streets.

1. Grand Street SE from 7th Street to Prospect Street SE (2 Blocks)
2. Hawley Street SE from Grand Street SE to End of Cul De Sac (1 Block)
3. Prospect Street SE from Winona Street to End of Street (2 Blocks)

The project will also include the replacement of the pavement and storm sewer installation on Grand Street SE from Prospect Street SE to Valley Street SE along with the installation of water main through the park to provide a loop of the water main between Hawley Street and Prospect Street.

At the first meeting we discussed the reconstruction process and experience for residents. At this meeting we will talk about some of the specifics of the design and will review the tentative project schedule. It is anticipated that bids will be received by contractors in May and if Council approves moving forward with the project contractors will likely begin working on the project in late June.
